FACILITIES:
BDM
(Brown-Day-Marshall) Rural Water System began with the goal of
providing rural water to the area around Britton, Langford,
Claremont, Groton and Pierpont.
BDM's source of water
is the Middle-James aquifer. Water is stored and distributed
at the water treatment plant and 14 reservoir sites. Stand
alone generators provide back-up power in case of electrical
failures at the treatment plant and several reservoirs
The system has gone
through many construction phases in the past 20+ years. BDM
now serves customers in the above mentioned areas as well as a good
portion of Roberts County. Nearly 2000 individual accounts are
served by BDM.
In addition to
individual users, we currently provide bulk water to the towns of
Amherst, Claremont, Langford, Pierpont, Britton, Veblen, Lake City,
New Effington, and Peever. The Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate is also
provided bulk water at several of their housing sites and at over
200 individual homes throughout the area. When construction is
complete in Phase One of our Hecla area expansion, the people of
Hecla will be on-line to receive quality drinking water from BDM
Rural Water.
