2010 Annual Meeting
The 30th
annual meeting of the BDM Rural Water System, Inc. will be held
at 6:00
p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the BDM
Rural Water building in Britton, South Dakota.
Reports
will be given by the Manager and the Board President. The audit
report will also be presented.
Elections
for three directors will be held. Currently, Cortney Dinger is the
director for District Three. That district is comprised of the
townships of: Claremont East, Claremont West, Columbia, Shelby,
Lansing, North Detroit, South Detroit, Portage, Hecla, Liberty, and
Greenfield in Brown County.
Nathan
Steiner is the present director for District Six. District Six is
made up of LaBelle, Veblen, Dumarce, McKinley, Lake, Red Iron Lake,
Eden, and Buffalo townships in Marshall County and Norway, Bossko, Long
Hollow, and Dry Wood Lake Townships in Roberts County.
Darian
Kilker has been the director for District Four for the past nine years.
As a director, he has represented the townships of Dayton, Newark,
Stena, Miller and Weston in Marshall County.
Directors
serve terms of three years. They can serve up to three terms or
nine years. Due to term limitations, Darin is not eligible to run
for another term. Cortney and Nathan are both eligible to run
again.
A
committee will be formed to nominate candidates at the annual meeting.
Nominations will also be taken from the floor. Anyone interested
may contact General Manager David Wade.
2009 Annual Meeting
On April 2, 2009 51 voting members
attended the 29th Annual Meeting of the BDM RURAL WATER SYSTEM, INC.
Travis Olson, Langford, was reelected as director in District One, and
Clayton Moen, Sisseton, was elected in District Seven.
Reports were given by
Chairman Travis Olson and General Manager David Wade. In 2008 52
new hookups were installed through the internal expansion program and
other new users. The first phase of the Hecla Area expansion is
also complete, bringing water to the Town of Hecla and an additional 40
individual users. Projects slated for this year include a system
storage upgrade and continued work on the internal expansion.
It was announced that four $500 scholarships
were awarded in January to two boys and two girls, Ryan Vrchota, Brody
Carlson, Lexi Bohlander, and Nicole Olson. Recognition was given
to Orville Helgeson who recently retired from his part-time maintenance
position.
Dwight Berglin from the
firm of Quam & Berglin gave the audit report.
Drawings were held for cash
and other door prizes. Supper was served by the BDM employees.
